Cardiology Courses Online is an educational publisher and teaching platform directed by Dr A M Thirugnanam, MD, MSICP, FSCAI, Ph.D., Senior Interventional Cardiologist, Hyderabad, India. This page explains how the site is funded, how we treat commercial content, and what we will not accept, so that readers can judge for themselves whether anything published here has been influenced by money.
How this site is funded
Our primary sources of revenue are course enrolment fees and sales of the course texts, question banks and reading collections published under the Cardiology Courses Online imprint. Together they fund the writing, editing, teaching time, hosting and support that keep the platform running. We do not sell the site as general advertising inventory.
From time to time a page, an article, a newsletter item or a teaching session may carry sponsorship, an educational grant, or an affiliate link. These are secondary and occasional. They do not replace enrolment and book income, and they are never a condition of publishing any piece of teaching material.
What counts as advertising here
We treat the following as commercial content, whether or not money changes hands directly:
- Paid or sponsored placements, including sponsored articles, banners and promoted announcements.
- Educational grants or unrestricted support for a course, workshop or webinar.
- Affiliate links, where the site may earn a commission if you buy a product through that link.
- Gifted or review copies of books, devices, software or subscriptions supplied to us at no cost.
- Cross-promotion of products published or taught by Dr A M Thirugnanam on other platforms.
Labelling of sponsored and affiliate content
Any content that falls into the categories above is labelled as such on the page where it appears, in plain language and close to the content itself, not buried in a footer. Where a sponsor has paid for or supported an item, we name the relationship. Where a link is an affiliate link, we say so. If we received something without paying for it, we disclose that too.
If you ever find commercial content on this site that is not labelled, please tell us through the contact page so that we can correct it. We would rather fix a labelling omission quickly than leave a reader guessing.
Editorial and clinical independence
Advertising, sponsorship and affiliate arrangements do not influence clinical or educational content. Sponsors do not choose our topics, do not review or approve teaching material before publication, do not see assessment questions in advance, and have no say over what a course text recommends. Clinical statements are written on the basis of published evidence, professional guidance and Dr Thirugnanam’s clinical and teaching experience, and they are revised when the evidence changes, not when a commercial relationship changes.
We keep a clear separation between the people who write and review teaching content and any discussion of sponsorship. Where a potential conflict of interest exists, we would rather disclose it or decline the arrangement than dilute the teaching.
Advertising we do not accept
We do not accept advertising for prescription medicines aimed at patients or the general public. We also decline advertising that we consider misleading, that promotes unproven treatments or diagnostic claims, that targets patients with fear-based messaging, or that would sit uncomfortably beside clinical teaching material. We reserve the right to refuse or withdraw any commercial content at our discretion, and to end an arrangement if the content or the advertiser’s conduct changes.
Enquiries about sponsorship
Organisations interested in sponsoring a course, supporting an educational activity, or discussing an institutional arrangement are welcome to write to us through the contact page. Please describe who you are, what you have in mind and the audience you hope to reach. We review every enquiry on its merits and we are comfortable saying no. Acceptance is never automatic, and no enquiry, paid or otherwise, gives a sponsor any influence over course content.
Changes and questions
This policy may be updated as the site and its teaching programmes develop, and the version published here is the one that applies. Questions about anything on this page can be sent through the contact page. This policy is provided for information and is not legal advice.
