A track taught to two audiences at once

Cardio-Obstetrics is the only track we run where the cohort is deliberately mixed — cardiologists and obstetricians in the same modules, working the same cases. That is because the failure mode in practice is each specialty assuming the other has the situation in hand, and a joint cohort makes that assumption visible immediately.

These 222 pages are the set text for both.

The pre-pregnancy module

Placed first and given the most time, because it is where the largest effect sits and where the opportunity is most often missed. Cases present a woman with known cardiac disease who is considering pregnancy, and learners must counsel before anything has happened — a consultation many have never actually had.

Through pregnancy and delivery

Physiological change and disease unmasked by it. Anticoagulation, including the mechanical valve case where every option is bad and the module simply requires learners to choose. Peripartum cardiomyopathy. Hypertensive disorders and their long-term meaning. Delivery mode, analgesia, and the postpartum period where much of the risk concentrates.

Women’s cardiology beyond pregnancy

Presentation differences in acute coronary syndromes, INOCA and MINOCA, spontaneous coronary artery dissection, and why women remain under-investigated.
