Good medical teaching depends on other people’s work: trials, guidelines, images and published research. This page explains how we use third-party material on cardiologycourse.com, the rights of the people who own it, and the rules that apply to anything you contribute to the site.
How we use published research and guidelines
Our lessons summarise and discuss landmark trials and society guidelines in our own words, and name the source so that you can read the original. Short quotations are used only where the exact wording matters, and are attributed. Guideline documents, trial publications and their figures remain the property of their publishers and societies; we do not reproduce them in full.
Images, ECGs and echocardiograms
Clinical images used in our teaching are either created by us, drawn from our own practice with all patient identifiers removed, or used under licence or permission from their owners. Where an image comes from a published source it is credited. If you believe an image has been credited wrongly or used without permission, please tell us through the copyright report page and we will correct or remove it.
Embedded and linked content
Some pages embed players or content from other services, such as video, audio and map platforms, and some link to external websites, including hospital sites and journals. That content is provided by its owners and governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content or availability of external sites, and a link does not mean we endorse everything on them.
Material you contribute
If you post a comment, submit a case, answer a discussion or send us material for publication:
- You keep the copyright in what you contribute.
- You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to publish, edit for length and clarity, and display it on our sites and teaching material, with credit to you where you ask for it.
- You confirm that you own the material or have permission to share it, and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.
