About Course

Heart Failure Masterclass: Acute and Chronic Management is a 7-hour, self-paced video course by Dr A M Thirugnanam, Senior Interventional Cardiologist, Researcher, Teacher, Author and Proctor. It takes you from the breathless patient in the emergency room to long-term care in the clinic: diagnosis, decompensated heart failure and cardiogenic shock, foundational therapy for HFrEF, HFpEF, the specific cardiomyopathies and advanced heart failure.

The course is fully updated to the 2026 ESC Guidelines for the management of heart failure — the new LVEF classification (HFrEF below 50%, HFpEF 50% or above), stages A to D, foundational, additional and interventional therapy, urinary-sodium-guided decongestion and in-hospital start of SGLT2 inhibitors — and to the landmark trials, including STRONG-HF, DIGIT-HF, FINEARTS-HF, SUMMIT, DanGer Shock, ECLS-SHOCK, COAPT and RESHAPE-HF2.

Every module is taught with real echocardiograms from Dr Thirugnanam’s own echo lab and ECGs from his ECG Masterclass: dilated, ischaemic, peripartum, hypertensive, restrictive and hypertrophic hearts, LV aneurysm and thrombus, functional and rheumatic mitral regurgitation and severe tricuspid regurgitation.

The 7 modules

  1. Foundations of Heart Failure
  2. Diagnosis and Imaging
  3. Decompensated Heart Failure
  4. Chronic HFrEF: Therapy That Saves Lives
  5. HFpEF and Pressure-Overload Hearts
  6. Specific Cardiomyopathies
  7. Advanced HF, Comorbidities and the Future

Heart failure management course for doctors, built on the 2026 ESC guideline

This online heart failure course covers the full pathway: diagnosing heart failure with natriuretic peptides, ECG and echocardiography; managing acute (decompensated) heart failure and cardiogenic shock; starting and up-titrating guideline-directed therapy for HFrEF — beta-blocker, ARNI (sacubitril/valsartan), MRA and SGLT2 inhibitor; treating HFpEF; and caring for patients with cardiomyopathy, valvular disease and advanced heart failure.

Frequently asked questions

Who is this heart failure course for?

Physicians, internists, cardiologists, cardiology fellows, emergency doctors, intensivists and MD/DNB postgraduates who manage acute and chronic heart failure.

Is the course updated to the 2026 ESC heart failure guidelines?

Yes. It teaches the 2026 ESC classification (HFrEF below 50%, HFpEF 50% or above), stages A to D, foundational, additional and interventional therapy, and the new decompensated heart failure pathway.

How long is the course and how do I study?

26 HD video lectures totalling 7 hours 26 minutes, with subtitles. Watch on any device at your own pace, with lifetime access.

Does it include real echo and ECG images?

Yes. Every module uses real echocardiograms from Dr Thirugnanam’s echo lab and real 12-lead ECGs, alongside clear teaching diagrams.

Will I get a certificate?

Yes. Pass the 56-question final examination (pass mark 70%) to download your Academy of Elite Doctors certificate of completion, verifiable online.

What does it cost?

₹9,500 in India, or US$159 for international doctors, paid once for lifetime access.

What Will You Learn?

  • Diagnose heart failure with symptoms, natriuretic peptides, ECG and echo, using the 2026 ESC classification
  • Read the echo in heart failure: LVEF, filling pressures, valves, RV and the cause
  • Manage decompensated heart failure in the first hour: profiles, diuretics, vasodilators and inotropes
  • Use urinary-sodium-guided decongestion and treat diuretic resistance
  • Recognise cardiogenic shock early and choose vasopressors, Impella or VA-ECMO wisely
  • Start all four foundational drugs for HFrEF quickly and up-titrate them safely
  • Add ivabradine, vericiguat, digoxin, IV iron and potassium binders at the right time
  • Select patients for ICD, CRT, mitral TEER and revascularisation
  • Diagnose and treat HFpEF with SGLT2 inhibitors, MRAs and incretin therapy
  • Manage ischaemic, dilated, peripartum, amyloid, hypertrophic and valvular heart failure, and know when to refer for LVAD or transplant
