₹15,000.00

A six-hour online echocardiography course for doctors, taught by Dr A M Thirugnanam on real echo recordings: 33 video lessons, module handouts, 264 MCQs and a final exam with an Academy of Elite Doctors certificate. Lifetime access.

Learn practical echocardiography on real echo recordings

Echocardiography Basics for Doctors is a six-hour online echocardiography course that teaches transthoracic echo (TTE) the way it is used at the bedside. Built on the book Quick Notes in Practical Echocardiography by Dr A M Thirugnanam, MD, MSICP, FSCAI, Ph.D., Senior Interventional Cardiologist, it takes you from ultrasound physics and the standard views through Doppler, ventricular function and valve disease to a complete, clinically useful echo report.

Unlike courses built on diagrams, every lesson is taught over real echocardiographic recordings from the author’s own practice, so what you learn on screen is what you will see on the machine.

Who this echocardiography course is for

  • Postgraduates in medicine, cardiology, anaesthesia, emergency medicine and critical care
  • Physicians and intensivists who use bedside echocardiography and point-of-care ultrasound
  • Cardiology fellows starting echo training
  • Doctors preparing for cardiology board examinations

What you will learn

  • Acquire and optimise the parasternal, apical, subcostal and suprasternal views, and recognise common artefacts
  • Use colour, pulsed-wave, continuous-wave and tissue Doppler correctly, and apply the Bernoulli equation
  • Quantify LV size, ejection fraction and diastolic function to current ASE/EACVI standards
  • Assess the right ventricle, pulmonary artery pressure, atria, aorta, IVC and right atrial pressure
  • Grade aortic stenosis, aortic regurgitation, mitral stenosis and mitral regurgitation, and evaluate prosthetic valves and infective endocarditis
  • Recognise ischaemic heart disease, cardiomyopathies, pericardial effusion and tamponade, pulmonary hypertension and cardiac masses
  • Perform focused cardiac ultrasound (FoCUS) and write a complete echo report
