What a course cannot do
A course teaches a subject to a cohort. It cannot tell one particular learner whether to take the research year, whether the paper they have been offered is worth twelve months, which observership will actually count when they apply, or whether to sit an examination now or in eighteen months. Those questions are individual, they are consequential, and getting them wrong costs years.
Mentoring is the personal counterpart to our course programme. The mentor is Dr A M Thirugnanam, MD, MSICP, FSCAI, Ph.D., Senior Interventional Cardiologist. The relationship is designed to last from early medical school until a cardiology training post is secured — years, not months.
How it runs alongside the courses
Four things come with a place. A private call every month, timed around rotations and exam periods, working on whatever decision is actually live rather than a fixed agenda. Group masterclasses held live and kept as recordings, so a night shift never costs a session. Unrestricted use of the library, meaning no set text on any track has to be bought separately. And continuous input on the strategic choices — where to attach for research, which paper to pursue, when to sit an exam, which observership will count, how to build the application itself.
In practice mentees run the tracks for structured knowledge and use the mentoring for everything a cohort-taught course cannot personalise.
Application rather than enrolment
There is no enrol button here, deliberately. The commitment runs for years on both sides, and cohort size is bounded by how many mentees one clinician can genuinely know. Applications are read individually and a conversation follows before a place is offered.
Who applies
Three groups, roughly. Undergraduates who decided on this specialty early and want the next four years planned rather than improvised. Housemen and early residents working out how to reach a DM or DNB seat, or a fellowship abroad. And established doctors switching in from a different discipline, for whom the timing questions are sharper because they are starting later. Applicants anywhere in the world are eligible; sessions are remote and the fee is charged in Indian rupees.
Fee
₹2,50,000 one time for the full multi-year term, with no recurring charge. Approximately US$2,500 for international applicants, billed in INR.
