Cardiology Course Book Bundles: Prescribed Reading by Module

Reading attached to the teaching programme

Every teaching block on this site carries a short list of set reading, and the bundles gathered on this page are how that reading is issued. A bundle is not a shopping basket assembled by subject tag. It is the prescribed reading for a named strand of the curriculum, sequenced so that the chapter you are asked to read in week two assumes only what you were asked to read in week one. Enrolled learners work through the same order in the lesson player; readers who buy the set outright get the same sequence, minus the deadlines.

All ten sets are shelved under Course Books, which is also where individual titles live if you would rather add one volume to a strand you have already started. What follows describes each bundle in terms of the module it feeds, who sits in that classroom, and what the tutor expects you to have read before the first live session.

How a set-reading bundle is used in class

Teaching here runs on unfolding cases. A tracing, a bedside finding or a first angiographic run is put on screen with the outcome withheld, and the group is pushed to commit to a position before the next slide is released. That format only works if everyone arrives having read the same pages. The bundle supplies those pages; the live class supplies the argument. Recordings and the written case are released afterwards, and the reading then becomes the reference you go back to when the same presentation walks into your own department three months later.

Each module lists a primary text and one or two supporting volumes. The primary text is compulsory; the supporting volumes are where assessment questions are drawn from. Buying the bundle is simply the cheaper way to hold the whole list.

The ten course book bundles

General Cardiology Bundle

The core reading for the foundation strand — the block that physicians, internal medicine residents and non-cardiology specialists take before anything else. It covers the material a general ward round actually demands: chest pain triage, the murmur you cannot name, hypertension that will not settle, and the first honest attempt at a twelve-lead. Listed at ₹4,599. Start at the General Cardiology Course Bundle listing for the current contents.

Preventive Cardiology Bundle

Prescribed for the prevention and lifestyle modules, where the teaching problem is not diagnosis but persuasion over years. Risk estimation, lipid targets, glycaemic agents with cardiovascular outcome data, diet and activity prescribing, and the follow-up architecture that keeps a patient in the clinic long enough for any of it to matter. Listed at ₹5,599 on the Preventive Cardiology Course Bundle page.

Interventional Cardiology Bundle

The set reading for the catheterisation laboratory strand. Access technique, diagnostic angiography, lesion assessment with physiology and intravascular imaging, stent sizing and deployment, and the complications chapter that fellows read twice. Taught alongside archived case recordings rather than idealised diagrams. Listed at ₹9,700 — see the Interventional Cardiology Course Bundle.

ECG Mastery Bundle

Attached to the electrocardiography teaching block, which runs as a drill rather than a lecture series: the same reading order applied to tracing after tracing until it survives a night shift. Rhythm, axis, conduction disease, ischaemic patterns, electrolyte and drug effects, and the tracings that are quietly abnormal. Current pricing is shown on the ECG Course Book listing page. The teaching sequence itself is set out in our ECG interpretation course module.

Echocardiography Bundle

Prescribed reading for the imaging strand, from probe handling and standard views through chamber quantification, Doppler haemodynamics, valve grading and the pericardium. Written for people who will have to produce a report with their name on it, not only recognise a picture. Current pricing appears on the Echocardiography Course Material listing. Reporting thresholds are drilled in the echo normal values teaching module.

Heart Failure Bundle

The reading list for the failure, rhythm and risk strand. Phenotyping by ejection fraction and filling pressure, sequencing the four drug classes in a patient whose blood pressure will not tolerate all of them at once, decompensation management, device selection, and the cardiomyopathies that change the plan. Pricing for the current edition is displayed on the Heart Failure Course Bundle page.

Cardiac Emergency Bundle

Set reading for the acute care block, where the teaching case is timed and you are asked for a decision before the imaging arrives. STEMI activation, shock recognition and support, peri-arrest rhythms, massive pulmonary embolism, hypertensive crisis and the first hour of acute pulmonary oedema. The emergency set is listed at ₹10,800; contents are on the Emergency Cardiology Course Bundle page.

Cardiology Board Examination Bundle

The revision reading attached to the examination strand — guideline summaries condensed to what an examiner can actually ask, board-pattern question sets with worked explanations, viva scaffolds and structured last-month schedules. Listed at ₹6,999. See the Cardiology Board Course Bundle, and the six-month plan in our DM cardiology board study programme.

Clinical Case Bundle

The case library the unfolding-case sessions are built from. Presentations are given as they arrived — incomplete, occasionally misleading — with the differential, the investigation order and the eventual outcome worked through afterwards. This is the set that most improves performance in long cases and clinical vivas. Current pricing is shown on the Cardiology Teaching Case Collection listing.

Expert Cardiologist Bundle

The advanced strand’s complete reading list, intended for consultants, interventional fellows and senior trainees who want the whole library rather than one module’s worth. It spans intervention, structural work, advanced imaging, rhythm, critical care and prevention, and carries lifetime access. Listed at ₹7,999 on the Advanced Cardiology Course Bundle page.

Choosing the right set for your stage

Most people over-buy at the start and under-read by the end. The table below is the recommendation we give when someone asks which strand to enrol in first.

Pricing, access and updates

Prices quoted above are the figures published for those sets; where no figure is given, the listing page carries the current one, because contents are revised as guidelines move. All sets are delivered as digital downloads readable on a phone, tablet or desktop, and enrolled learners see the same titles inside their lesson player without a second purchase. The full catalogue of individual volumes, if you prefer to assemble your own list, sits under Course Books. The parent bookshop’s own presentation of these collections is at cardiologybooks.com.

Course book bundle FAQ

Do I need the bundle if I have enrolled in the course?

No. Enrolment includes the set reading for the modules you are enrolled in. The bundles exist for people who want the reading without the timetable, or who want a strand’s texts before deciding whether to enrol.

Can I buy a single title instead of the whole set?

Yes, every volume is listed separately under Course Books. The bundle costs less than the titles bought one at a time, and arrives in the order the module teaches them.

How much overlap is there between bundles?

Some, deliberately. The ECG chapters in the emergency reading are what an acute physician needs at three in the morning; the electrocardiography strand goes much further. Holding two overlapping sets gives you the short treatment and the long one, which is how the modules are taught anyway.

Are the files updated when guidelines change?

Revised editions are issued when a major society position changes something taught in the module. Holders of the advanced set receive updates for the life of the collection; other sets are re-issued edition by edition.

Which bundle suits someone who is not a cardiologist?

General Cardiology first, then Preventive Cardiology. Between them they cover what a physician, anaesthetist, nephrologist or emergency doctor is asked to decide about the heart without a cardiologist in the room.
